Retailer council sets priorities for safer alternatives to toxic chemicals

Today the Retail Leadership Council (RLC) of the Green Chemistry and Commerce Council (GC3) issued a new statement developed by major retailers calling on chemical companies and suppliers to develop safer alternatives for flame retardants, plasticizers, water and stain repellents, and other chemicals in products sold at retail.

Today is the official 37th “birthday” for our toxic chemical law the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). The last time our primary law on toxic chemicals was update was 1976 and as you can image, we’ve learned a thing or two about the ways in which chemicals behave in our bodies and the environment.
