Legal victory in the fight to save lives from asbestos!

In a welcome holiday announcement, we learned this week of a legal victory in the fight against asbestos! After EPA’s 2018 denial of a petition filed by our allies at Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) to make sure EPA collects information on asbestos use and exposure was upheld, we joined ADAO and other public health groups in a legal challenge that was upheld this week.

Asbestos: The latest chapter in the long struggle to protect Americans

Asbestos takes the lives of 40,000 Americans each year. There are no known safe levels of exposure to this deadly substance. While many Americans may assume that our government has already taken sufficient action to protect us from asbestos, they have not. In fact, asbestos is one of the biggest examples of how the federal government has failed to protect us from toxic chemicals.
