Our coalition includes over 450 organizations and businesses working together to reform out of date federal policies on toxic chemicals, educating the public about the dangers of toxic chemicals in consumer products and working with retailers to move the market towards safer materials.
Position Announcement: Campaign Associate
Job description:
Seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented Campaign Associate to work with a national coalition. This position would report to the Deputy Director and would assist in a variety of tasks including: administrative work, grassroots organizing, database and email management system, social and digital media.
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates and/or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferred
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exhibit a high level of attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to execute many tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work as a team member as well as independently
- Ability to take initiative on tasks and projects and see them to completion
- Understanding of basic HTML, strong preference given to candidate with experience on Salsa platform and/or WordPress
- Ability to learn new skills and issue area
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for administrative support to the Deputy Director of Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families.
- Manage email database for the coalition, help posting content on coalition website.
- Must develop strong working relationships with staff, coalition partners, donors, and foundations.
- Work on special projects including research, grassroots organizing, document and presentation preparation.
- Extensive support of organizing efforts and social media management and postings.
- Responsible for travel arrangements for the Deputy Director, works closely with other meeting managers and arranging all logistics and travel schedules as well as preparing and providing any support or presentation materials for meetings.
- Comfortable working in a virtual organization in a supported independent context, and with colleagues at different locations without daily interaction
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Announcement: Executive Administrative Assistant
Position Summary: The Executive Administrative Assistant will coordinate the administrative and day-to-day needs of the Director including calendar management, travel arrangements, meeting planning, all correspondence and clerical and administrative support. The Executive Administrative Assistant is responsible for the functioning of the DC office.
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates and/or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferred
Personal/Soft Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exhibit a high level of attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
- Ability to fix day-to-day computer issues
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to execute many tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work as a team member as well as independently
- Ability to take initiative on tasks and projects and see them to completion
Responsibilities:
- Mainly responsible for complete administrative support to the Director of Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families. This work includes managing all phone, electronic and paper communications and correspondence coming in and going out of the headquarters. This person must be prepared to prioritize even in the absence of the Director.
- Assist in all meeting planning onsite and offsite, including staff meetings, donor meetings, steering committee meetings etc.
- Must develop strong working relationships with staff, coalition partners, donors, foundations and partner organizations.
- Work on special projects as assigned including research, and document and presentation preparation.
- Responsible for all travel arrangements for the Director. Works closely with other meeting managers and arranging all logistics and travel schedules as well as preparing and providing any support or presentation materials for meetings.
- Must maintain comprehensive electronic and paper filing systems, capturing all historical, and legal, and fundraising materials and organizing them in a thoughtful way. This person must also appropriately manage a great deal of confidential materials and information.
- Management of office including maintaining organization, supplies, equipment and any servicing required.
- As first line of contact in the office, this person is responsible for all phone, e-mail and paper communications and triaging requests and questions to the proper people.
- Must serve as a hub for information coming into and out of the office including providing triage of various demands on the Director’s time. And must have the ability to find information and connect stakeholders as necessary.
- Must have knowledge of a wide range of communication tools and vehicles and be willing to learn new programs.
- Must be able to prioritize and multi-task and provide exceptional customer service to all constituents. Must act as gatekeeper and filter the various demands on the Director’s time.
- Comfortable working in a virtual organization in a supported independent context, and with colleagues at different locations without daily interaction
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
