Stroller Brigades: A Recipe for Change

By Lindsay Dahl, Deputy Director; Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families

Bring your strollers and tell your friends!

When I find a recipe or cook a delicious meal, I like to share it with as many friends as I can. Even better is re-creating those meals, improving it each time.  As organizers we are often looking for those ‘recipes’ that bring people together to create a fun atmosphere, inspire people to act and create change. The perfect organizing recipe if you will.   MA_ActSign

Our mom-led Stroller Brigades have proven to be a great recipe for creating a toxic-free future. Moms from across the country, excited kids, a great issue and voila, a huge success! Last summer we knew we were on to something special when moms across the country started to volunteer to host events in their community.

The response was incredible, we had 17 events take place across the country and the best part is people like you requested that we do it again. So get ready for our second batch!

Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families and our partner organizations are excited to announce a second round of Stroller Brigades taking place November 10th, 2011.

Join moms in your state to show support for a toxic-free future! Moms across the country will participate in local events to ask their Senators to be leaders in protecting American families from toxic chemicals.

These child friendly events will feature fun activities from letter writing, to sign making (fun for the kids).  We’ll even have red super hero capes for the kiddos to wear, asking their Senator to “Be a hero and co-sponsor the Safe Chemicals Act!” These events will feature a stroller brigade where you’ll walk to deliver letters to your Senator’s asking them to protect your family from toxic chemicals.

Be sure to bring your strollers and tell your friends!

This is a great opportunity to meet other moms and parents, have fun with your kids, and make a difference for future generations.

Check out the full list and SIgn up for an event near you, tell your friends and please RSVP if you plan to attend!
